A Sad Day

I am sorry to say that tragedy has struck our high school. One of our fellow classmates, Dakota Kirkpatrick, committed suicide on Friday, April 3rd of 2009 in his home. Without a doubt this is one of the worst things to happen in our school for a long time. Even those of us who didn't know him that well give his family warmest regards and our deepest sympathy, and we hope Dakota rests in peace.

Digger Has New Sibs!

My dog, Diggy, has three new brothers -- one half-brother, and two full-brothers. The puppy farm where he's from has a website (puppypaws4you.com) where they update when each female dog has a baby. Blizzard, his mommy, just had two boys -- Koala and Mr. Bubbles -- with Digger's daddy, Koden. One of the other females had two boys and two girls with Koden, but only one boy is left -- Spike. They are sooooooooooo cute (especially Koala!) and I just want to adopt them all! If you're interested in adopting a puppy, Digger's siblings are ready to be loved and given a home!

Digger and the Kid

So, looking after my aunt's son was . . . interesting. My ah-DOR-able westie, Digger, was being brutally abused. He's normally a very patient dog, but with my two-year-old cousin, he was at the end of his mile-long rope. He bit the kid. Hard. It drew blood. He had never done that before, but in a way it was a good thing. This cousin, who I'll refer to as "Leonard" has serious issues with understanding that dogs will bite if you pull their ears or tails as hard as you possibly can. My family and I are just very afraid that if Leonard does not learn this lesson now, that who knows when he'll mess with a big dog with a bad temperment and get seriously bitten or scratched up. Don't get me wrong, Leonard's a sweet kid but he just has a hard time figuring out ways to show his emotions without freaking out and hitting his head against whatever hard surface he can find and/or giving the closest person injuries. In all seriousness, he is a lovable little dude.

Stitchies and Purple Mittens

Hey everyone! It's me again! My life's been pretty boring, but lately my cousin and I have been chatting for hours every Friday night. Normally this wouldn't be very interesting, but he leads a very exciting life for a two-year-old. I don't always catch everything he says, but I get out bits and pieces. Yesterday he had to get stitches because: "I sing and dance to 'yo, yo, yo' and fall down in pauking lot and I uz beedin' an' beedin' so I go to da docta and I gotted stichies and purple mittens." I don't really get how the purple mittens fit into all of that, but the poor little dude must have scraped his chin really bad. (If you're wondering what "yo, yo, yo" is, he can't pronounce his "Ls" and they come out as "Ys". The song he was referring to was "Low" by Flo Rida, which he loves.) He should be coming up this Presidents' Day weekend, so I might be babysitting him on Saturday (which, in case you don't know, is Valentine's Day!). So, yeah, things have been good except for the falling down in the parking lot.

I am so pumped, dudes! This is my very first posting, so, this will be fun! I'm livin' life to the fullest -- trying to get good grades and make some extra cash on the side.
I've been babysitting three awesome kids and LOVING IT!!! I won't mention their names, but they are super cool! The older two are in third and fourth grade and pretty much take care of themselves most of the time, but are sooooooo sweet. The younger one is three and is pretty crazy. He jumps on the couch most of the time and likes to sing songs that he makes up. He has also developed his own language, which is, to say the least, pretty, um, interesting . . . he expects everyone to get what he's saying, but we kind of have no clue at least 87% of the time. Taking care of the little dude is pretty easy: you just need to know how to make macaroni and cheese and bandage head wounds. (JK!)
So, yeah, life is pretty sweet. Talk to you later, guys,
Love Always,
